THE MARCH EN BREVE
I decided to go multicultural on your asses, folks. Or is that bilingual? Ass or asses? Whatever. This is a quick and dirty reaction to an amazing and rather long day. The NOLA bloggers were out in force: Slate, Traveling Mermaid, Dangerblond, Loki, Maitri, El Senor Wet, Celcus, Ashley, Morwen, Alan, Schroeder, Varg, Michael Homan and from Houma, Donnie McDaniel. I'm sure I'm missing someone...
Onstage, NOLA bloggers Karen Gadbois and Bart Everson gave eloquent and passionate speeches. I was very proud of them and I'm proud to be their friend. I was also pleased that the march organizers did not allow any politicians to speak, which prevented them from co-opting the event. It was the people's day and we spoke loud and clearly for changes in the way our city deals with violent crime. I only hope that they listened.
I'll post a longer account of the day tomorrow. I wound up drinking, eating and then drinking again with Dangerblond and Ashley (Drumbo) Morris. It may have been the first time a patron ever brought a snare drum into the Bourbon House Restaurant.

Although I didn't attend the march/rally I saw DB on Poydras on the way to
the after party.
There was not really a full tilt after party. DB, Ashley and I did,
however, do some drinkin' and seafood eatin'
Didn't even invite me, huh? Harumph.

I enjoyed meeting you and Dangerblond finally. I did a quick post on it,
but blogger was acting the fool again. So I just put up one pic. BTW, where
was Mayor Potato Head? One of those pics I told you about looks like Nagin
in the window if you enlarge it.

It might be, "Multicultural on yall's ass." Pluralize the group and make it
one collective ass. :)
I think it might even be "ya'lls" or "all ya'll". I knew you guys were
debriefing somewhere. I was with you in spirit. Ya'll rock.
Wait. It's "Ya'lls'". Heh heh.
BTW, I'm gonna email you some pics. I even got a pic of the guy with the
long pole that almost took you and dangerblond out!
I held court in the Starlight post-march and after parading around the
Quarter with my sign.
