TELL THE TRUTH

I haven't said much about Sarah Palin's Troopergate problem but the report that came out late last week is quite damning. Governor Palin has been lying like a rug about her and the <ugh) First Dude's vendetta against their former brother-in-law. Or is that bald faced lying on a bearskin rug? They've got lots of those in Alaska. The whole mess may have, however, landed her in deep shit back home. The Anchorage Daliy News printed an editorial blasting the way she's spinning the issue:

Sarah Palin's reaction to the Legislature's Troopergate report is an embarrassment to Alaskans and the nation.  She claims the report "vindicates" her. She said that the investigation found "no unlawful or unethical activity on my part."

Her response is either astoundingly ignorant or downright Orwellian.

Page 8, Finding Number One of the report says: "I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act."

In plain English, she did something "unlawful." She broke the state ethics law.

Click on this LINK to read the whole editorial, it's a thing of beauty. I particularly liked the bit comparing Sarah-n-the-First Dude to Captain Ahab. Palin's mendacity and incompetence remind me more and more every day of President Beavis. He's been known to wink too and they both say nook-u-lar.

Instead of barfing back McCaniac talking points, Ms. Palin could follow Eric Clapton's sage advice and tell the truth. But I somehow doubt that she'll get Steve Winwood's help in doing so but she does seem to believe in blind faith:
