SEPARATED AT BIRTH: FREDDIE MERCURY & CHARLIE CRIST?

Wonkette has an hilarious piece, complete with photos, about Florida Governor Charlie Crist's college days as a frat boy at Florida State. LINK. I was struck by how much a befezzed Charlie looks like Freddie Mercury:

Governor Crist is considered to have a shot at being McCain's running mate but here's how Carl Hiassen describes his Governor's main qualifications: "It's no sin to be ambitious, and it's flattering to be courted by your party's presidential nominee. But if Crist cares as much about Florida as he says, he should graciously excuse himself from the vice-presidential sweepstakes.

He's been governor for only 17 months, and it's fair to say that the lives of most Floridians -- workers, retirees, students -- have not improved even slightly.

If Crist were to become vice president, he'd leave Tallahassee with virtually no footprints. He would be remembered more for his tan than for his leadership."

Ouch. But the man sure looks good in a Fez with a Magnum PI/porn star mustache. That should count for something, Carl; especially the Fez. Besides, Walnuts is in trouble and how could having a running mate who looks even vaguely like the late, great leader of Queen hurt? McCain's new biker buddies like to rock and I bet they even know this song sung by a clean shaven and leather clad Freddie:
