"Hardy har har" was Jackie Gleason's sarcastic laugh but I'm using it differently because "heh, heh, heh," "ha ha," or "hee hee" looked dopey as post titles.
The source of my amusement is a poll via TPM that shows that Holy Joe Lieberman would *hurt* Senator Walnuts in the Nutmeg State (one of my fave rave state nicknames) if he were on the ticket. LINK. That's what happens when you deceive the voters. Among other whoppers, Holy Joe said in 2006 that he'd support the Democratic ticket in 2008. There was no caveat about temperamental, Sandinista grabbin' C students either...
As it happens, I was raised a "Nutmegger". Obviously, tropical spices are
not grown in New England. Rather, the origin of the nickname lies with the
famed Yankee peddlers, some of whom got a little too thrifty and sold
wooden carvings made to look like whole nutmegs!
